Calculated HTC signal from a multimode laser-induced ion pulse. Panel (a) shows the calculated Bode plot with the gain G[dB]=20 log(U_out/U_in ) and phase shift at different frequencies for a=15mm, b=30mm, h=10mm, N=50 and R=10Ω. The shaded area shows the expected frequency range for ions. The panel (b) shows the input multimode signal defined using the parameter indicated for the three modes. Note that the first mode is a large positive, the second is an antecedent large negative, and the third is a tiny positive. This complex signal is to highlight the ability of the HTC to deconvolve components of different characteristics. (c) shows the Fourier spectrum of the input signal in (a), whereas (d) shows the calculated HTC response signal, with (e) being the corresponding Fourier spectrum (Fingerprint). The characteristics of the HTC are given at the bottom.
